This never gets old for me. Sometimes I feel badly that I don't have the same patience when taking pictures of my own kids, but I have to say they've done much better since I've gotten so busy taking pictures of other kids. Even my 3 year old has asked if she can have her own little photo session!
I guess I should enjoy that while it lasts!
Anyhow, I know how it feels to corral your kids and try to get real smiles. When I try to get pictures of my own kids, it's almost instantly maddening and I know full well that getting frustrated with them will never result in the picture perfect expressions I'm demanding or begging from them. I've got crazy Momster on one shoulder and photographer Mommy on the other doing her best to refocus my efforts. It can be so hard!
So, please trust me and just relax and have some fun. Remember what makes them smile: favorite songs, goofy faces, reverse psychology, pretending to hurt yourself (that one is almost always a huge winner!). I promise that I'll let you know if I need your help.
Until then, don't worry, show off the love you have for your babies, and let me work my magic!
