Here are my kidlets when the tubes were releasing just 5,000 cfs (cubic feet per second). This was taken on June 16. They got to play in the water while getting swarmed by the weakening swarm of 17 year cicadas.
The west tube was not working properly, so only the right side was open and in these next couple of pictures taken on June 17, 15,000 cfs was being released.
The blasts of water felt great on a warm Summer day!
On June 23, we visited again when the explosion of water was set to 25,000 cfs!
I had heard of multiple injuries from people playing in the water, so we stayed at the head of the tubes rather than playing in the water this time. We could barely shout over the roar; you could really feel the power in your chest. What an awesome experience!
If you haven't already done so, you should definitely drive over there to check it out! Be safe!
